Our Story

At Go Bird Go™, our story begins with a simple act of care — rescuing and feeding wild birds alongside family in Kansas back in 1982. What started as a child’s fascination grew into a lifelong mission: to blend nature, technology, and community in ways never before possible. From those first hand-fed moments with Mom to today’s smart solar-powered feeders, every step has been guided by the same belief — birds bring people together. This page is where we share how it all began, where it’s going, and why it matters.

Each visit to the feeder inspired wonder and shaped our future vision.

Family Roots to Future Tech — Mom Inspired Go Bird Go™

Howard & Glenna Dines in 1979, the family roots behind Go Bird Go’s lasting mission.

Howard & Glenna Dines — Our Beginning

In 1979, Mr. Howard Dines, a proud member of the United States Air Force, and his wife, Glenna Dines, the Armordale Beauty Queen, laid the foundation of our family’s story. Together in Topeka, Kansas, they built not only a home but also traditions of kindness and care for nature that continue to inspire us today.

We lost our charter, Howard, in November 2005, and he will be forever cherished and missed. His love, discipline, and dedication remain a guiding light.

None of this mission would be possible without the bright and intelligent ideas of our mom, Glenna Dines—now 84 years old and doing well. Her creativity and vision remain the heart of everything we do at Go Bird Go.

From Roots to Innovation

Carrying the Legacy Forward

What began with simple acts of feeding birds and squirrels in Topeka has grown into a mission that blends family tradition with cutting-edge technology. At Go Bird Go™, we honor the past while creating smarter, solar-powered feeders that connect people everywhere to the beauty of nature.

That journey started in 1982, when a rescued robin at our Topeka home made the front page of the Topeka Capital-Journal. Our mom’s creativity in building makeshift feeders inspired not only neighbors, but planted the seed of what would become a lifelong calling — to care for wildlife, share joy, and innovate in ways that make backyard birding easier for everyone.

Today, Go Bird Go™ carries that spirit forward with 4G/5G smart feeders, AI-powered bird ID, and sustainable solar technology. From Kansas roots to a global community of bird lovers, we remain guided by the same values: family, creativity, and a deep love for the nature right outside our window.

About Our Founder — Go Bird Go™ Smart 4G Solar Feeders

Founder’s Journey

I was born in 1973 in Topeka, Kansas, to Glenna and Howard Dines. Growing up in a large family was full of fun, laughter, and adventure. Our home sat on a unique piece of land surrounded by towering trees, bright flowers, and thick bushes. It wasn’t just a yard — it was a natural safe haven.

Wildlife thrived all around us. From hummingbirds and western meadowlarks to robins, sparrows, blue jays, and cardinals, every season brought new wonders. We shared our space with squirrels, turtles, dogs, cats, and countless other creatures. Looking back, it felt like living in a modern-day Noah’s Ark, where people and animals existed side by side in harmony.

As a child, I would often rescue birds. When I suggested simply letting them go, my mom would say, “Oh no, we can’t just let them go now.” That’s when she came up with the idea of rolling up little pieces of hamburger meat like worms to trick the birds into eating. And it worked — together we successfully nursed and released birds back into the wild. Those moments shaped me forever.

From those days on, I never forgot the joy of saving wildlife, and my passion for animals and birds has only grown stronger over the years. It’s that same passion that inspired me to bring you the world’s first ever 4G/5G smart bird feeder. I’ve designed other concepts, but for now, this is the one I am proud to share with you — the beginning of a new chapter in birding.
